Halifax Mission Week Three Sunday, July 16 to Saturday, July 22, 2017 This week was a very full week filled with rich experiences. The Sabbath day is always great because we are able to go to church, partake of the Sacrament to renew our covenants, and then to participate in the lessons of the day. We had one young woman (YSA age) named Robin who connected with us at church and we attended the meetings with her throughout the day. It felt like we were meant to connect with her and we enjoyed our spiritual experiences together. The young missionary Elders also did not have a place to go for supper so we invited them over. We told them we just had left-overs but they did not have another option so they graciously accepted. We came home and Kathy was able to put together a great supper and it seemed like the miracle of the Loaves and Fishes as there was plenty of food, even for two big eating Elders. And it wasn’t even left-overs! We have a weekly routine of cleaning and ...

Halifax Mission Week Two Sunday July 9 to Saturday July 15, 2017 On Sunday, w e went to our new Ward, the Cole Harbour Ward. They meet at 9:00 AM in the Stake Centre on the other side of the temple from our apartment. It took us about four minutes to walk there. We enjoyed meeting the missionaries and members and they are such a nice, warm people. His family invited us in but we didn’t want to interrupt their family time and we told them we were planning on going for a walk. They suggested we go to Rainbow Haven at the end of their street. We parked in the parking lot, then started walking down the path. There were lots of beautiful trees there and we could see a lake in the distance. We continued on and came upon the ocean! It was so beautiful and unexpected! That lake that we saw was really an inlet from the ocean! We walked back to our car, ...

Halifax mission week one Sunday July 2 to Saturday July 8, 2017 On Sunday July 2, 2017 we went over to the Parkland Stake Centre with our whole family and met with President Kipp Craig to be set apart as Full time missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We had some wonderful counsel from President Craig and from some of our children and grandchildren before we were set apart. We had some beautiful blessings pronounced upon us as President Craig set us apart. It was a spiritual feast and we felt that we were able to have a glimpse of heaven that evening. On Monday, July 3, 2017 we left Calgary to drive across the country and begin our mission in the Halifax Nova Scotia Temple. This is a day that we have looked forward to, planned for, and dreamed about for a long time. We were so excited that the time had come to begin our mission!  We spent Monday night in Estevan, Saskatchewan. On Tuesday, we drove into the United States wit...
